I would like an invite. I remember when I got my gmail invite back when people were offering Porsche rides for invites. I wonder whether anything will match that feeling again?

Igor it certainly isn't suitable for everyone. SEOs might look on it as a link building opportunity from a trusted domain for their clients who may have a related site. Others might find it an attractive place to hang out and maybe drop a few blog posts to help promote their consulting or startup. I have just written a post on Collective Thoughts about my customer focus on both content and social media participation. It is impossible for every post to target all my audience, but I can try to serve as many as I can.

Andy should we get like gazillion profile accounts on every social networking services, get free “follow” links, and clicks to our sites..:)

There are so many of them, I would probably have to hire an SEO to set up my accounts, or just go for the major one’s or the one’s I am interested in participating!

I suppose you can just look at it as another link, or after snooping around a bit a yardstick to compare to other sites.

One of the reasons I like looking at these different sites is examining their implementation.
