Update

It looks like Technorati have currently hit the Friendfeed aspect of this with a nerf bat – this means that any comments on Friendfeed are now going into a Technorati black hole. It was working late last week when I first drafted this post and discussed it with a few friends on Skype.

I have just started using Twitter and have been having a great time with it. I love looking at the profiles and links. You learn a lot about people.

I didn’t realize that you could add Twitter to Technorati. I’m going to do that now.

I’ll also do a search for you on Twitter and follow you. :-)

The interesting aspect of this post is that the information is layered like an onion. The more experience you have, and the more observant you are, the more you will gain from it.

Thanks for the quick tips. I just started using Twitter after going through the 30 Day Challenge. I didn’t realize you could ping pong though. Good stuff.

And you also managed to ping your blog comments, at least with Google blog search (showed up on my wp dashboard).
If only my comments would not show up on your moderation queues. oh, wait, would you miss this comment of mine? :-)

Any comments on Friendfeed are now going into a Technorati black hole ? Is it because Technorati considers them as spam ?

My claimed Friendfeed is no longer indexed by Technorati – they have done this with both Twitter and coComment in the past.

In my opinion is is part of the conversation (though I wish it happened on the blogs themselves), and the links between FF accounts are valuable metrics similar to blogrolls. In many ways the widgets from FF and similar services are replacing blogrolls.
In the past I have seen Technorati index widgets at their source.

    Interesting collection of tips.

I started using twitter a while ago, but then stopped, finding it annoying. But it seems like it may have more of a use than I thought.

    Thanks!

Tecnorati canned my Friendfeed while twitterfeed is doing ok. But I think it may get canned after today. I have been twittering a lot today.

Off the topic. Andy, I really think you should install “subscribe to comments again”. I think that helps to follow the discussions. You use to 50+ comments per post. I think subscribe to comments was good contributor as far as discussions are concerned.

Andy you should start a post with all your guests posting their Twitter user id in the comments.

It would be fun to see how many Twitterers are around this blog! ;-)

This is a good way for all of us to introduce each other to our Twitter profiles.

Thanks Andy, I’ll give it a whirl tonight. Anyone want to list their twitter accounts so I can befriend you?

I had signed up for twitter some time ago- installed that twitter widget for wordpress and the promptly forgot about it. Then when I saw the news story about a blogger getting released from jail by using Twitter to notify his friends and family, it got me to thinking perhaps Twitter has some use in the world. SO I have been using it a little bit more in the past week- but I still find it kind of droll.

I never used Friendfeed and really want to look into it, considering the benefits.

    Btw, good post title :D

    Cheers, mate!
