I agree that google makes alot of money with adsense and blogs so I too see blogs getting stronger in the future.

I dont think blogs will be discontinued from search engines. Google monetizes with adsense. I see blogs getting stronger.

I have never seen a blog whose content was purely lots of paid links so I don’t expect there to be any long term problems.

A quick word of encouragement:

H. L. Hunt (Haroldson Lafayette Hunt) back in the 70s – owned 200 + companies and earned over $3 million a day in royalty income. when asked what his key to success was, he responded: “2 things: #1 – Decide exactly what it is you want and make a plan to achieve it. #2 – Determine the price you will have to pay and then resolve to pay that price.”

Not much gets done without any action being taken first. Do today what you can do today – for tomorow you will do what you can do tomorow!

The more specific example I won’t reveal, because it pertains to a niche for me.

Here is an example though that I mentioned elsewhere

toolbar pagerank (in google)

I can’t think of any reason at all why both Alice Seba and my page rank higher than Matt Cutts currently, though we have all slipped a little over the past day or so, depending on data centers.

Another Good Example might be

Google Reader Feedburner
Feedburner Google Reader

The only problem is with that example is I rank for a lot of other topics concerning those 2, and thus my site might have some overall topic benefit, plus the internal linking structure.

With toolbar pagerank, too many authority sites with more links rank for he term, and Matt Cutts even has toolbar pagerank in the URL and title.

If it’s something you can disclose, I’d be interested to hear more about the hard evidence you’ve seen about links being devalued by the search engines.

It’s sad to see, but really makes sense. Blogs are abusing the system through links swaps and link-for-review contests that are creating thousands of links that are in no way related to content. I wonder how Google will adjust, maybe a blog penalty?
