Fixing Redirects

As visitors to my niche websites blog have almost certainly noticed, it is now being hosted on one of my many incarnations of andybeard.x

The redirect code isn’t quite working as intended and will hopefully be fixed soon.

If you are looking for information on a particular subject, the best way is just to use the site search until I have things under control.

I have spent the last few days planning what I am going to be doing “as standard” on many of my sites in regards to themes and plugins. There is likely to be a fair amount of theme customization.

Fortunatly subscribers were unaffected by the move as the feed from Feedburner remains unchanged, though there is an as yet empty comments feed. There is a way I can import old comments from Haloscan, but it is a low priority.

Update: 301 redirects
andybeard.name now has a 301 redirect pointing to andybeard.eu

wordpressplugins.info has a 301 redirect pointing to wpplugins.info

These were both done after the domains had all been crawled.
There are lots of tutorials about doing a 301 redirect available on the web, but here is what I placed in one of the .htaccess files I created.

Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule (.*) http://andybeard.eu/$1 [R=301,L]
