Glad you are back. I was researching article submission software and was wondering what you feel is the easiest and best way to get one-way links including other ideas like using blogomatix or other methods. Like what is the easiest thing that really produces when you are really time crunched?
I haven’t been able to immediatey pick things back up where I left off, because it has taken some time in analysis of what I had been doing, and what continues to work. It has even meant that I haven’t been able to get back in contact with everyone I should.
I have decided not to go into the details of my absense, but rest assured nothing illegal or life threatening.
A lot has changed over the last 9 months in Niche Marketing, or so lots of people would have you believe but at the end of the day, all the fundamentals are still the same.
Whilst it has been slated as having a bit of a cumbersome interface, The Dowser has always been one of my favorite keyword research tools.
I don’t use it exclusively, I also own The Keyword Bible (great for fast keyword list generation), Keyword Locator, and a number of other tools I use, free, purchased, and even a couple I wrote myself while learning some PHP.
I have been a little quiet for the last week, mainly cobbling lots of things together, and brainstorming a load of projects for my newly out-sourced programmers.
No I am not lying, I just managed to generate a site with Portal Feeder.
I had a couple of problems though:-
Yes I got some sleep after my marathon session. Switching over to a clean XP installation has also been time consuming. I still have over 100 apps to install, but I will get up and running over the weekend.
I just lost a very long post, going into extreme detail the differences between Article Miner and Portal Feeder.
Whilst still clearing up a HD for a fresh XP installation, I have been struggling along with the web interface… trying to at least create one small site with it.
I am giving up with the web interface.
Now regular readers of this blog, and some of my posts on forums might understand that quite frequently I can be quite harsh describing products I am absolutely delighted to own, such as Blog Auto Publisher.
I know my Win98SE installation is severely messed up, so Portal Feeder (desktop) not working on it is no great shock. Maybe it is fixable.
I have so far drunk about 2 quarts of coffee, but it is only 5am… plenty of time to get really ratty from sleep deprivation.
I didn’t get a chance to send that email, Marc Quarles just responded, and it seems like things are going to be progressing much faster.
Another 3 hours has passed, still no access to the forum, or the program.
Two hours ago a friend told me he had accessed the forum, but hadn’t even tried to run the software yet.

Now that is just over 3 hrs response time… and I am sure they are absolutely swamped right now.

I really hate doing things in a rush, and doing a cut & paste on this blog, but this is something important, and you will benefit from it greatly.

Like most internet marketers, I have multiple email accounts. Some I look on as primary accounts I monitor “live”. I actually use gmail for that because I love the sorting features. If someone forces me to use a “non free email address”, fine, I will just use an email associated with one of my 50+ domain names, and maybe… maybe it will get read sometime.
I think most people have head about Google Analytics by now. It doesn’t seem to be producing any data yet (Google underestimated the demand a little), but just implementing it for some people is going to be a major undertaking.

Article submission is definately one of the best ways to promote any site, not just because of the benfit of growing a massive amount of targetted backlinks on highly regarded websites, but also because they in themselves bring in traffic. People do read articles, and do follow the links which you include in your resource box. This is especially important for a niche website.

Have you noticed how so many sites have “link to us” pages full of junk links.
If I am exchanging links with someone I write something quickly about their site, and include it in a blog post. The link is permanent, it gets front page exposure for a while, and it adds to my content.

This Niche Products promotion has quality written all over it.
It is actually the first I have ever taken part in, because up until now, I have not run my own mailing list. I decided a long time ago that I wasn’t going to start a mailing list until I had.
Greenzap is a scam? you bet!
Whilst I have made up my own mind regarding this issue, as I have clearly stated in previous posts, I am deeply concerned.
Based on Alexa rating, promotion of Greenzap has been dying off, as Greenzap failed to deliver promised functionality, and lots of the people who were promoting discovered they were not going to make quite as much as they thought, most of it in worthless coupons.

The Coolest Guy on the Planet?
This started between a very small group of SEO experts. From what I can tell, it was just a small joke site between a few friends.
I saw a post on this on the Warrior forum, from Mike Filsaime explaining how he found out about it, and how he decided to join in on the fun in dramitic style. He now has 2 top level domains registered, and is trying to make a dent in the “wild claims” of these SEO experts.
Do you know when you feel real proud of achieving something? You want to share it with friends and family.
My problem is my wife knows nothing about SEO, so it kind of goes in one ear and out of the other.

Seos, gurus and niche website calm
Have you noticed how quiet your email box has been recently?
I am not talking about the usual spam like offers, or the corses you might have subscribed to. I am referring to the extreme lack of creative emails from the quality internet marketing experts who you know are making real money, not just faking it, to try to squeeze a few more dollars out of you.
I am a SEO newbie
I bought a great tool 11 days ago and it changed the way I look on web design.
I have also read a lot about SEO over the last few months, and there are 2 huge schools of thought.
I have been very lazy on this blog for the last few days. I have a great new tool to play with and it is both increasing my productivity, and destroying my sleeping patterns.
I was just browsing one of my favorite Internet Marketing forums and saw this plea for help.

I have received a very disturbing comment on my previous Greenzap post from Carol, who is understandably very concerned.
Greenzap is a scam – I am convinced: “I listed 2 bank accts. when I signed up for greenzap. Today june 30, I received emails stateing they were taking $100 from each acct. to up grade me to GOLD. These were seperate emails. I did authorize them to take the $100 from one of the accts. but certainly NOT both. And this was before I even thought of this being a scam. I had used their logo on my ebay selling site and someone, a potential customer saw it and emailed me this link, as she too, went gold, and now believes its a scam. Is there any way to get in touch with greenzap other than email? they will NOT answer any of my emails.
Concerned over them taking double the amt. of money to go gold more than anything else.

Niche websites rely on traffic, and if you want your traffic to be sustainable, rather than just a flash in the pan, it is vital that you have a planned linking strategy that is self-propelled. Arranging permanent links with related sites is one direction well worth following, but this is extremely time consuming, or extremely expensive.
It is certainly not something to consider for small niche sites you only expect to bring in $30 of adsense revenue and the occasional affiliate sale.
An other alternative is using the power of RSS syndication of your website and sneaking in the backdoor on multiple related websites looking for content. I have previously discussed tools for how to do this in my previous post “RSS Website”

RSS is a great way to keep your readers informed of changes to your blogs, and as a search engine optimization strategy, but what most people don’t realise is that it can be used extremely easily with conventional websites.
I am a hard person to persuade without hard facts.
I have not supported Greenzap or accused them of being a scam up until this moment, because I had no proof. I was sitting on the fence. I did question their business model as unworkable, and waited for developments.
I have just been doing a little bit of searching on Google and noticed something strange that might be very useful.

I was one of Corey’s 70,000+ affiliates, though a rather new one. I have never made any money from selling his products, but still promoted them, knowing that the products would help others get ahead.

Google’s Human Quality Evaluation: How To Spot Offensive Sites & Google’s Whitelist – Henk van Ess’s Search Bistro: “How does Google decide if a site is offensive or not? They hate affiliates without original content.”
The post continues with a screenshot of detailed instruction of what Google are instructing their human site inspectors to look for. In particular listing lots of products without any content is highlighted. You need reviews and price comparisons.
The problem is that prices change on vendor sites fairly often, so it is hard to keep track of that kind of content. It would be good if affiliate services provided a price comparisson search, so that affiliates could be sure they were offering good prices. That doesn’t cover added value though like service – I look for good money back guarantees on all products I list.
I would be interested in when sites are reviewed. If it is when they first enter the database, it would partially explain why sites can drop in rating a few days after entering the database.

As reported earlier, the default main page of Greenzap, the self proclaimed alternative to Paypal doesn’t have a security certificate.

Instant Buzz is officially public now, well for at least the next 4 days.
It is a great free way to generate traffic to your website, and it doesn’t take any effort. Just install the toolbar, tell it what advertising message you want, which website, and then just carry on as normal.
There are also lots of strategies to multiply your traffic by promoting instant buzz on other traffic generation systems, thus building a massive downline.
I have found it to be a very effective tool to promote websites I am interested in. If you take your website promotion seriously, signing up as an elite member gives you massive benefits.
Sitesell provide an RSS newsfeed tool for affiliates that I have been playing with today.
It seems to be a bit of a pain to include them on a CSS based blog because they rely heavily on tables and Javascript.
Also they can’t be included as a post on Blogger, because Javascript is not allowed in posts.

This is one of the only ebooks I own (I have over $10,000 worth) that I have actually read cover to cover multiple times. The new edition is 197 pages long, and above all puts you in the right mindset to success.
Ken Evoy doesn’t preach “get rich quick” methods. He teaches people how to build quality websites that ooze high demand, keyword focused content.
I have just done a major update on my “Getting Rid of Ground Moles” niche site.
It is not “pretty” yet – I am not a graphics designer, and I am still very rusty on the HTML.
Three days after creating my “Getting rid of ground moles” niche site, it entered Google at a high position as reported.
A few days later it plummeted in ranking.
The site went from 40 new visitors daily from Google to ZERO. (it is not a huge niche)
There is a lot to learn about internet and niche marketing, how can you learn faster?
You will read in many places that emulating success is a good technique.
Now what better way to emulate success than to actually work for a successful internet marketeer on a part-time basis.

The site was first uploaded 4 days ago.
The site is hosted on a free host
The site has to my knowledge no external links pointing to it other than this blog (which is also only 4 days old)
The site is relatively well optimised for keywords
Google was not spotted on Statscounter
Regarding search engines/directories, I submitted to the top15 or so that allowed subdomains on Friday (just over 48hrs ago), though Google, MSN and Yahoo are probably more like 72 hrs
All external links are currently fed through a metatag redirect page, which I don’t think Gooogle bots really follow (or if they do, you don’t get credit for linking to good content that way)
Adding the wrong type of content can easily break your blog template.
All during today I have been worrying about my blog template being broken. I had been playing with it slightly, but nothing serious.

Mike Filsaime has been one of my favorite reads for some time. He always promotes a few products when he publishes his blog, but quite often it is products Not Yet Released.
I have spent a few hrs playing around with a few template modifications. First of all I added my site to http://www.feedburner.com
Feedburner gives me a lot more options in feed types, making it a lot easier for others to syndicate my blogs. They also give you some nice tools such as the syndication icons you can see over in my sidebar, and another neat automatically generated graphic you can use in Forum posts.
