Pageflakes Affiliate Program

Pageflakes Conversions

One of the affiliate programs I am monetizing my Disclosure Policy Plugin site with is Pageflakes.

The affiliate program is PPA, and thus requires a signup to receive a payment.

You would think that as it is free, and actually quite cool and useful, people who clicked through to take a look might be inclined to signup and give Pageflakes a try, even if they ultimately decided to continue using something else.

Paid Links | Hindsight gives perspective

Paid Links

It is five years, almost to the day that Yahoo started charging $299 per year for a listing in their directory as this article on Pandia clearly illustrates.

The main benefit of being in the Yahoo directory isn’t traffic, it is pagerank / trustrank. Who actually uses the Yahoo directory for anything other than listing their own sites?
It is many years since I went to Yahoo to lookup an entry for anything other than a competitor in a niche.

Readers Throwing Money Away

Or maybe it is just me throwing money away by not just including my own selection of ebooks for my best ebooks post recently.

The post brings in search traffic every day, both from blog search and even Google’s main search that could be reading the recommended ebooks from my subscribers, rather than links I suggest.
Currently 7th and 4th on the first page of Google.
It is not bringing in a huge amount of traffic (a few visitors every day), but then it hasn’t been marketed at all yet, and those 2 terms are not highly competitive.

Reviewme Rating

In a previous post I stated the following:-

Would I Do Paid Posts?

Yes – but not for the reasons most people would do them.

I value my time, and the $30 I would currently get from ReviewMe to do any justice to a review just wouldn’t cover my time.

FTC | Word of Mouth and Affiliates

I was honestly so caught up in other things over the last 36 hours, I totally missed this and it is highly relevant to my Disclosure Policy Plugin.

I am not a lawyer, thus any interpretation of the situation I am going to leave in the hands of lawyers who I have a great deal of respect for, and who themselves are involved in the internet marketing field.

Google Toolbar 3

Ionut over at Google System mentioned today the release of a new beta Google Toolbar.

He actually forgot to mention it was beta, but that is a minor issue.

Now I have been interested in the Google Toolbar buttons that were previously only available for Internet Explorer users for some time.

Disclosure Policy WordPress Plugin Now Available

The site is live, the plugin available for download.

I’m exhausted…

There are still a lot of things that need tweaking on the site before I promote it but thought I would at least mention it here before hitting the sack.

Headline Formatting In Blogs

H2 Headline on AndyBeard

When most people write content, they think about how that content looks in their WYSIWYG editor, and probably in their preview of page contents.
I am sure after publishing, they take a look at their published version of the content.
