When Blogcatalog announced their entry into the social network of blogging I almost totally ignored it. Oops…
Blogcatalog History Lesson
(as I understand it)
In June 2005 Brad Jasper sold Blogcatalog to Jacob Gower
Internet Marketing, Lead Acquisition, Online Business Strategy and Social Media with Original Opinion and Loads of Attitude
I have opened up the voting for the first round of my cash giveaway for WordPress plugin authors.
Nominations for the Best WordPress Plugin each month are made by my readers, and half my income from paid reviews is given away as donations to help support development costs of the best WordPress plugins.
I recently wrote that I don’t like Top Commenters plugins, in fact I used a very strong word… loathe. There are some benefits to introducing Top Commenters to give some level of special recognition, but whatever SEO benefits you think it might offer are discounted by having it placed in your sidebar across the whole of your site including your duplicate content pages.
Have you noticed my pages loading extremely slowly over the last few days? I am not talking about my sidebars, which appear after my content, but my articles which always load first, and usually quite fast.
Do you set achievable goals both on your on-line activities and in your off-line personal life? I certainly do, though some of them I keep private, and a few I leave hints about.
I use quite a lot of screenshots when blogging as I find the old saying “A picture is worth a thousand words” very appropriate.
Michel Fortin also pointed out in his top plugins and blogging tips article today how graphic icons with each post help with clickthrough. He has been using eye tracking software to prove it, and is a fanatical tester.
These are some highlights (in my opinion) of some of the content I have created over the last month. If I have missed anything out which you enjoyed or gained some value from, please let others know in the comments.
