WideCircles – Takes Spam Seriously? LMAO

After my last post regarding Wide Circles I exchanged emails with one of their support representatives, with their message being…

We definitely do not tolerate any kind of SPAM at all

Unfortunately the evidence available to me at the time not just on my own blog but elsewhere, was in stark contrast.

Washington Post Spammed – great way to encourage press coverage

Any legitimate service, if they wanted to get press coverage from an international news publication, might issue a press release, and contact a newspaper through legitimate channels directly, or maybe through their public relations company.

Wide Circles seem to have a different

Sphinn Moderation An Insult To Gary Halbert

Whilst this might be personally biased, it is my opinion that my Gary Halbert quote in my recent Players With Money Review is probably better content than 90% of what is submitted to Sphinn, and on its own might even have been front page material if posted on a blog that was actively promoting their content on Sphinn.

The whole article is better than 99% of Sphinn content

I wonder how many people on Sphinn have even heard of Gary Halbert?

It seems like the Sphinn moderators were having another hissy fit – they see an article written intended to promote a

Sphinn All Unsphunn

I had intended my next post to be a small tribute to the great articles that have been selected as finalists for this year's Semmys, with links to all the finalists and a subtle link through to the SEO category where one of my articles was selected as a finalist.

But that would be gaming the system based upon whatever level of popularity I have achieved within the Online Marketing community and it seems that popularity of whatever kind isn't necessarily a good thing, because the masses or individuals start accusing you of gaming the system for your own

Sphinn Greatest Hits – Could The #1 Be Some Useful Content?

John Andrews currently has the top rated article on Sphinn with a truly brilliant display of link baiting and social media awareness.

I am not sure I am going to be able to knock him off the top spot, and this very post will probably gain him a few more votes, but I would like to think that one of my older articles could at least be a contender.

If This Content Is So Good, Why Hasn't It Been Submitted Before?

There are a number of reasons why my old post on Wordpress SEO and Dynamic Linking might not have

How To Find The Hottest Breaking Stories On Sphinn

We all lead busy lives, and finding ways to optimize our online research is vital for time management.
As the Sphinn user base increases, finding the wheat among the chaff becomes more time consuming.
In the future Sphinn will allow some sort of filtering based upon your friends, but what can you do now to maximise the signal to noise ratio?
The Front Page Of Sphinn
This is an obvious stop, and hopefully it won't be filled with "made For Sphinn" articles every day.
Sphinn Greatest Hits
Eventually this will contain a superb overview of the online marketing industry, though as Sphinn is still very new, a lot of the current top posts are related to Sphinn.
Sphinn Upcoming Most Popular
I found a gem from Danny Sullivan in a comment and wanted to highlight how much

Sphinn Support – Antisocial (SEO Friendly Sociable) WordPress Plugin

I have just added support for Sphinn to my hacked version of the popular Sociable plugin.

For those unfamiliar with Antisocial, these are the differences

  • All links have nofollow added – this might sound strange coming from someone who strongly supports the removal of nofollow from comments, but there is no logical purpose having a followable link to a social bookmark site that just points to a submission form

Sphinn – SEM Attention Wars

Having just come back from a week in Florida, striving to improve not only my own powers of concentration and focus, but how to grab and maintain the attention of readers and customers, for the last few days I have been thinking a little about Sphinn… some of those thoughts haven’t been pleasant, and to be perfectly honest, the good thoughts had very selfish motives.
